What we see of history is 'slivers'

I've used that word before to describe how the perceptions of history are often skewed by the fact that we don't see the vast majority of what is really going on. You may well read about the idealised versions of man-boy attractions from times gone by.. meanwhile there would have been megatonnes of unwritten versions of reality going on. Not just a hundred years ago but all through history and pre-history men were fucking boys and not being 'ideal'. Any writings that recorded such bad thinking or behaviour usually got targeted for destruction by religious zealots.. as they do today.
