1. phpBB without JavaScript still has much greater functionality than BC's current software.

2. Regular patching shows that those maintaining the code are paying attention.

3. Admins can turn off the PM function. It's disabled on Mu Forum, except for messages to or from admins/mods.

4. Regular users cannot create private forums. Only admins can do that.

I know this from being an administrator at Mu Forum, a phpBB forum.
