Yes, the USER can turn off JavaScript (and lose a lot of functions) but JavaScript is built into phpBB, and it cannot be removed.

Yes, they regularly issue security patches for vulnerabilities they find. Oh, wait, they regularly find security vulnerabilities?

They are highly configurable.

Yes.

They have many additional features.

Yes, they have lots of whistles and bells, and you can PM too! Oh, wait, you cannot turn off the PM function?

We have techs and mods who know how to operate them.

"WE"? Sounds like full disclosure time to me.

It's time to upgrade.

Yeah, right. Upgrade to a buggy program that contains risky functions like PMing. It has private rooms, too, doesn't it?
