That was the least convincing line in the whole series. Of course, what actually turns me off is how much of a jerk the boy is. But it is a very good drama overall with unusually deep characters. While I agree that barriers to sexual exploration lie at the center of the problem with the way incels and pedophiles are treated by society, I think more could be said on how this fear of underage sex extends itself into a broader erotophobia that implicates all forms of intimacy and affection as a slippery slope. This would put hetero incels closer to the source of the problem than BL is; a canary in the coal mine telling an obstinate society that something is wrong. If underage hetero intimacy causes parents to tremble in consternation, it should be no surprise that less normative forms of affection are so harshly circumscribed. Unlike many vocal members here, I see feminists as little more than late-comers in this regard. Overprotective fathers have always eyed other men suspiciously. ![]() |
