So, the boy points a gun at you, smiles, and...

Suppose that you just watched a boy, maybe 8 or 10 or 12 years old, point a gun at a total stranger, smile, and say, "Bye bye!" then pull the trigger, killing that person.

And suppose that you knew that the boy had done the same thing, over and over again, with other now-deceased people.

So now the boy turns to you, smiles, points his gun at you, and says "Bye bye!".

Would you shoot first?

If not, why not?
