There is no such thing as an "antidepressant". Just as there is no such thing as an "antipsychotic".

There are chemicals big-pharma have discovered, or created, which interfere with the normal functioning of the brain. The "side effects" of these alter behavior.

"Depression" is not treated, and "depression" is not reduced or eliminated, by these chemicals.
