But when it comes to ideological disagreements of such profundity, I don't think exchanges on forums serve any function, so we'll just have to agree to differ. I think your remarks about apocalyptic films are very true of the American version of the genre. In British films such as Threads and When the Wind Blows there are no heroic characters, no strongmen; nor is there anything even remotely fantastical about the scenario such films depict. |
