I'm a teenager myself, and i can definitely say that it would take time. the golden handcuffs term you've used perfectly captures your situation as how you are being limited with your career demands for your own time and energy which left out with personal ideas and pursuits you may want. Finding a good balance with just career and personal life alone is extremely crucial i say. And you don't need to be traveling to a whole other continent or country to enjoy yourself some free time, As long as you have a friend circle, can keep yourself entertained with the amount of things held onto you, then you later find out that you don't perfectly need to be traveling anywhere OR need a significant other just to enjoy life. Remember that these are in FICTIONAL media, they romanticize it till the last water drop just for people to fantasize about it, so don't be shocked or surprised when you try to catch onto that fantasy and it doesn't work the way you want it to be. And FYI, as a Teen.. I've seen plenty of my own classmates and friend's prefer older men/women, but its mostly in fiction media like books/novels or cartoon shows. We also have terms like "bees keeping age" and "Dilf/Milf". Don't worry, you'll definitely find the right one sooner or later :D |
