Calm down, first and foremost. If you have a fat bank account, eventually, perhaps you can have the luxury of finding a job that pays less, but gives you more time. You could also, to increase your income in a job that pays less, use the money you have to rent properties. Not sure how feasible that is in your country.

Intellectual kids at the age of 17 are probably very well in life as well, so they have less need for emotional connection. Were the kid younger, it could work our better.
