The question seems to me to be really rather a simple one: is the hostility of our culture to paedophilia acidental, or is it essential?

This is the question, and one that doesnt get addressed in fragments reply.

Why does western culture have such strictures against pedophilia? And, if we removed those strictures, what would happen to the culture?
