The sin of sex outside marriage?

It is a sin. And it is not committed here!

Even if there's no "sex" involved, what is happening in stories like this is in the context of marriage, of the raising of boys into men who will carry the race forth biologically, culturally and socially, through commitment to wife (or Church (or another boy...)).

The boy lover does not "marry" the beloved boy: his commitment is such that it gives the boy away, akin to the way a father gives his daughter away in marriage. The lover is somehow "married" to that process of giving away, dedicated to the ephemerality of becoming.

He's kin also with the priest, who has no biological children of his own, but similarly marries something more "abstract": not ephemeral, quite the opposite! He marries the Church itself, an theological entity temporally embodying permanence and eternity (or trying to...).

Pederasts, priests -- like midwives -- all intermediaries, fostering and ancillary, abstracted from animal heterosexuality, vital to human continuity.

I propose a categorical imperative for boy lovers: act as if the boy you love should one day ask you to be his best man!
