Sex crimes

Posted by Etenne on 2024-April-15 09:29:10, Monday

Over the last year or so I have seen a new trend in sex offenses. More and more women are being charged with sex crimes. When I was a younger, none of these cases would have ever been brought to court. I read the other day about a teacher being charged for having sex with an adult student. Or course, there have been many others recently where the boy was under 18.

I am pretty sure (just from reading the news) that the number of women being charged for having sex with boys now outnumber the men. Though the number of men being charged with crimes against women seems to have also increased slightly.

It makes sense though, there are certainly more heterosexuals having sex then any sexual minority. The boys will be boys mentality was certainly part of the reason women weren't being charged as much but there are likely other factors as well esp. that heterosexual sex if not moral outside of marriage is at least "normal". I would guess that the largest number of people on the sex offender registries are now average heterosexuals.

I have read a few articles where some states are not following federal law and taking some people off the registry. I suspect that there are at least a handful of states that are not going out of their way to enforce it. I think at least part of the reason for that is that despite removing some people off the SORs in most states, it is growing faster then the state's ability to manages it. And of course, it was never intended to be what it has become... it was meant to track violent repeat offenders. And of course study after study has shown that no one is safer because of the registry.

I certainly don't feel safer because they are putting a bunch of MILFs in prison. IMHO
