Voluntary child prostitution isn't immoral. Most boys would hate doing sex work, but there have always been some boys who don't mind doing it. BLs who can't imagine boys having transactional sex out of their own free will and not being revolted by it are projecting their own disgust onto them. There's lots of individual variation in disgust sensitivity. Some people never even feel disgust. There are boys who would rather sell sex than flip burgers at McDonalds. Most clients of prostitutes are nice and respectful to the beings they pay for sex, and BLs who travel abroad for sex tend to be especially nice. Most of them love boys and would prefer to have a loving relationship with one, but can't get that because of society's hostility towards them. Just because you pay a boy for sex doesn't mean you can't be kind and loving towards him. I've read accounts by child prostitutes saying that most clients treat them well and respect their boundaries; that it's just a small minority of "bad" clients who hurt them. It's because of bad apples that many prostitutes have stories of being hurt, and feminists and conservatives use those stories to broad-brush clients as rapists and abusers. The best way to protect prostitutes from abuse isn't to make their job illegal. It's to legalize it. Child prostitutes should be encouraged to work in brothels where there is camera protection and where there are security guards who can protect them from sadistic/abusive clients. Most child prostitutes outside of dirt poor places like the Congo aren't doing it because they're starving. Some are doing it because they see it as an easy way to make money. Others are doing it because they prefer it to other jobs, such as slaving away in a shoe factory for 12 hours a day to make the fashionable shoes that anti-child-prostitution activists love to wear. |
