Dropbox is encrypted but scans folders for CSAM. Most of these CSAM arrests start when someone uploads their stash on "encrypted" platforms like Google, Dropbox, Kik, etc and get reported.

Also, companies will gladly provide a backdoor to the cops to get into hardware storage devices.

Finally, if all fails, the cops will either compel a company to come up with a way to get into a device or folder or will find someone who can.

Anyone who tells you that their product is 100% safe is a liar. It's as stupid as thinking that if you delete a photo on your computer then it will be gone forever.

Finally, what nailed Matthew wasn't his videos or pictures, but the testimony of 18 boys.
