"Maybe there is no correct AoC? No absolute truth? Yes." You believe there is no absolute truth! But to say "there is no truth" is a statement of absolute truth. So you implicitly accept objectivity even if you deny it. Let me explain something to you, you fickle-minded fuck: if one statement is true, then another which contradicts it cannot also be true. Therefore if I say, "A 15 year-old cannot consent" and it is 'true,' then "A 15 year-old can consent" cannot also be true. "As the age in such laws goes down, more harm will occur." A pubescent human who is capable of reproduction and has evolved to perform that exact function (also did for most of human history) would suffer harm from a mutually desired sexual encounter? And the harm would be inherent to the sexual act and not induced by extrinsic factors? If you answer yes to the first question, then you have some serious mental gymnastics to do to explain it... If you concede that harm would result from extrinsic factors (shame, guilt, induced by societal attitudes) and are not inherent to the sex, then your position vis-à-vis AoC is untenable: -Harm (induced by the aforementioned extrinsic factors) would accrue to a 15yo who has sex with a 25yo -Therefore a 15 yo cannot consent, so the AoC (and societal attitudes) should be as they are. -because AoC and societal attitudes are as they are, harm is caused... -because harm would result, the AoC (and societal attitudes) should be as they are. ....and on and on.... in a logical bootstrap. If you argue that no intervention should be made to change AoC laws along with societal attitudes, and thus allow this self-perpetuating crap to play out, then your position is nothing more than one of moral cowardice! A justification that has no logical beginning and no logical end... A principled person could not allow this. But it is clear that you are an unprincipled swine, and a dog! After all, can't two mutually exclusive truths exist at once? "And AoC laws are laws I have no interest in advocating for change." Naturally, because you are a bollockless swine. |
