Yes they do except for that wonderful weirdo Freud who without empirical backing nevertheless turned the world upside down by overstating the importance (deliberately?) of sex in psychological development. We need more psychiatrists like him and less Cantors. Cantor has gathered small but statistically significant sets of data regarding pedophiles (they are shorter with slightly lower IQs and exhibit left-handedness more than others in the populace). This isn't enough. It was also empirically shown that psychopaths have a weaker sense of smell than most of us. That hasn't changed anything for psychopaths. It seems most progress for a minority is linked to subversive actions and/or individuals. Freud and the Stonewall Riots being concrete examples. |
