Sick Rose and others argue our aims fundamentally clash -- that we are masculinists and TG is essentially an attack on masculinity. Even if that were true -- and I don't think it is, after all TG involves FtM as well as MtF -- it is still the fight going on at the moment (ours very much isn't) and it prominently involves youth asserting themselves (ours very much doesn't) and we should be paying close attention and trying to learn from it.

When a social issue reaches the stage TG has, you sort of have to take sides. And you should look at who is on which side. All the same voices that are anti-pedo are anti-trans -- in fact they claim (with some logic!) that trans normalization will inevitably lead to pedo normalization. It won't be that easy, but this should be enough to make us suspect where our loyalties ought to lie.

I didn't bring this up again, Sb did. But the article he links is so pervasively ageist, the voices of the boys are treated with such contempt and disdain, the echoes of the debates over kids identifying as gay are so clear and precise... I refuse to let that pass!

If we have lost track even of the basic principles NAMBLA has been identifying as the foundation of any progress for BLs for over 40 years now, then we have truly lost our way.
