I wrote here years ago that I thought the very term 'grooming' and the ideas behind it would cause the situation you describe (actually I think I called it evil). About as evil as extra-territorial jurisdiction, but that's another argument altogether. All the punlicity about 'grooming' causes every man, innocent or otherwise, to fear for their public perception, especially in the era of all-pervasive social media where self-discipline is a rarity rather than the norm, and it causes men to withdraw from socialising with younger men and boys where in the past it was considered normal and necessary. Where else do young males pick up their socialisation? There are, of course, plenty of non-Western cultures where this orchestrated paranoia about pedophilis still does not poison every adult-child relationship, but the numbers are shrinking and always under threat.
