Prohibiting CP offenders from having regular porn

Posted by Lysander on 2017-April-19 08:37:31, Wednesday

I notice that often, child porn offenders have a condition in their supervised release that says that they're not allowed to possess or use pornography of any kind. So, they can go back to prison if they get caught using, say, PornHub.

The theory is, they might start looking at regular porn and then say, "This isn't enough; I need some CHILD porn!" In other words, the more they feed that dragon, the more it'll grow, till it gets out of control and wants to eat EVERYTHING. Therefore, you have to starve it so that it becomes emaciated and lacks the strength to do anything predatory.

Could it be, though, that if they're prohibited from viewing regular porn, then they might say, "I need to look at porn of some sort, but since I go to jail regardless of whether I get caught downloading regular porn or child porn, I might as well go for what I prefer, viz., child porn"?

It's similar to how when pot is illegal, people say, "I might as well use some opiates since they're stronger than pot. Either way, if I get caught, I go to jail, so why not get the best bang for my buck."

Child porn offenders also are often required to abstain from alcohol. That part, I can kinda understand. I know that when I get drunk and high, I start thinking, I don't care what the law says; if I ever get a chance to be alone with my daughter, we're getting naked and

Still, it's not alcohol by itself that usually has that effect, but rather the combination of alcohol and pot. Huh, those might also be effective grooming tools. Hmm, this gives me an idea I hadn't thought of. Unfortunately, all I can do at the moment is file that away in my mind for later, since the time isn't ripe.

By the way -- I wonder what would happen if a female teacher were to call the cops and say, "This 6th grade student of mine got me drunk and seduced me"? Given that in cases where both sex partners are inebriated, the male is always the rapist, would that be the case in that type of situation as well? Or would they BOTH be rapists?
