Boylovers usually feel love for the boys they're with and enjoy having a relationship,but at the root of boylove is sexual attraction,and sexual attraction is about the desire for sex with the object of your attraction.

If you love boys but have no sexual desire for them, then you can't really be considered a boylover.You're just a regular person who likes kids,but especially boys.Kind of like how some old people delight in being around kids.These old people love kids, but they're not attracted to them, so they're not boy/girl lovers.
