First, Bridgebuilder will be along soon with some links including one to a website that he created for just this purpose. I don't know how successful it is.

My recommendation would be to post here for a good while and get to know some of the people posting on the board. After a while, you might find that you can really identify with certain posters and might like to get to know them, while others will raise red flags and you won't want anything to do with them.

When you get a good feeling about a poster, you can reach out to them and offer to exchange email. If the feeling is reciprocal and they accept, you can get to know them even better through email. Eventually you might do real-time chat, converse on Skype, or exchange phone numbers.

The key is to take it very slowly. I know it's very tempting to get things moving quickly, but the more you rush things, the more danger you put yourself in. There are plenty of people here who are out to do BLs harm. The board was much safer a decade ago. Things are a lot different now and we're under much higher scrutiny.

Again... TAKE IT SLOW!

...and good luck to you.
