You pick some really disparaging sounding terms for things, and then you look at what you have written and think wow, I was right that does sound really bad. Where you use funny little phrases like "breaking this agenda barrier" why don't you try instead to use expressions like "introducing him to new experiences" or "expanding his horizons".
Throughout my life I have several times had my 'agenda barrier broken' .. and thank goodness for that.
