so desperate to bring Sandusky onto the side of the good, right and true. Now that's gotta be some naivete. Not a 70s naivete, it's true - more of a perpetual one - 'the people on my side of the social divide must be right.'

Although, reading between the lines, he seems to have struck the right note with one of his boys - the one who didn't sue and stayed on the defence side. But even crass manipulators can get lucky.

A guy like that sure would have freaked me out when I was a kid. I was never a 70s person when it came to horny older guys.
