Never talk to the police. The police are not your friends. Don't think you can explain anything and they will "understand." The police will pretend to be your friends and ruthlessly lie to you. Then they will prosecute you anyway. NEVER talk to the police without a lawyer sitting next to you. It is unlikely you are going to get prosecuted for incidental stuff left in your cache from visiting websites like Azov or BoyLinks. Questionable videos and pics from P2P are another matter, but as a first offender who has never actually put their hands on a minor, it is likely the worst you would get if convicted is a lengthy period of supervised release. This is definitely NOT worth killing yourself over. When's the last time you read about someone whose life was ruined by reading 4chan? If nothing happens, which is the most likely outcome here, there's no need to tell your family or have your life otherwise disrupted. Making a filesystem on a file of a few gig, and mounting it as an encrypted home directory before browsing questionable content, will make sure you don't leave breadcrumbs behind. While I'm sure you wouldn't deliberately (cough) access problematical content, you never know what will pop up while you're surfing the Web, and as I've pointed out numerous times before, everything looks like child porn when it's thumbnailed. You didn't mention what country you live in. Hopefully it's one of the less hysterical ones. |
