I do have another dog. Looks nothing like Rex. He was a Bernese. She is a Huskie/shepherd mix.

She has a great back story.

I was off work for a week...Xmas to new year. The local shelter was trying to foster out all animals so no one would have to come in and feed them.

My friend( i only have one) went with me. We looked at all the dogs.finally decided on one. Then we're told that so.eone was already doing paperwork on that one.
Chose another..."someone just called about that one"
The only one left we like was a barker.
Then they asked if we had other animals in the house, which I don't.
" come with me and put these on"
Clean suits, booties, gloves. (WTF!?!?)
They lead us down the hall to a storage room. Inside is a roll-away kennel
With a dog. They bring her out. She's quiet, likes being petted.
I tell them we'll think about it.
The tell her to goback inside and she does.
We go out, stripping off the PPE. They close the door and she starts to cry.
"I'll take her"
She had a respiratory infection, but they didn't know how infectious, and an eye infection.
She needed antibiotic pills 3x daily and twice daily she need triple antibiotics ointment put directly on each eye.
She was a champ!
I'd pull out her bag of meds and she'd lay her head on my leg. She didn't like it but she never snapped or snarled at me.
We spent the next week with her lying alongside my chair and me petting her.
I was supposed to foster for a week...I called and said I needed more beds and I was keeping her.

That was 2 years ago come Xmas. She's my reason for being.
I paid for training for her...Just to get her around other dogs.
She's a fast learner. I have been teaching her stunts and tricks, and she loves to show off. She does agilities, but not in competition.

She belongs to a dog club...like a private dog club with a yard and equipment and toys and all the tennis balls a dog could want.

Her name is Moro, like the white wolf in Mononoke...but I didn't name her that.
At home and at the club, she is called Baby.
