'Arabic' is not a single language

I know people pretend it is, but if Arabic is a single language then so is 'Romance' and 'Germanic.' Gulf Arabic and Moroccan Arabic, for instance, are not mutually intelligible. They are far more remotely related than Spanish and French, or French and Portuguese.

Palestinian Arabic is as much a language as German or Italian or Norwegian is.
