i can see this clearly, also, in the context of the u.s. of a. The white liberal is as duped and DUMBED-DOWN as the white conservative, only just a teensy bit differently! BOTH white liberal and conservative have INTERNALIZED THE VALUES OF THE EMPIRE (in which they have been surrounded with) and are not likely to change that view without coercion, or some personal experience with peoples different from them (i.e. when you travel and don't merely read a book most of the time). Or, as i envision, an approach where a mix of something like the old "good cop, bad cop" becomes something like a "good peasant, bad peasant" routine that CREATIVELY persists to inspire faster change. On the other hand, beyond and in the nooks and crannies of the empire, are those whom have been finally able to see thru the ruse.
