Yes, I saw it this morning. A good piece, which makes a lot of important points. Owen Jones is so wonderfully spiky. He used to be quite pretty; now, alas, he is merely handsome is a slightly weathered sort of way. The media pile-on against Zack Polanski in the wake of the ZiR motion has been relentless. They really hate the fact that Zack is an anti-Zionist Jew. I've seen people refer to him by his birthname David Paulden in an effort to deny his Jewishness. The worst thing about it, though, has been the attacks on Polanski by the Green MPs Ellie Chowns and Adrian Ramsay, and a particularly destructive attack by former Green Party leader Caroline Lucas. I mean, we've always known that they didn't like Polanski or the radical Green Socialism he represented; it seems this was their opportunity to stick the knife in. Under Caroline Lucas, the Greens were nice, cosy, woke, establishment, unthreatening - and completely inconsequential. Under her leadership and co-leadership, the maximum percentage they received in a general election was 1.6 per cent in 2017. In Holborn and St Pancras they won a mighty 3.4 percent in that same year. Compare this with Zack's showing of 32.8 percent in Holborn and St Pancras just three days ago. Still, I think the membership is very much behind Zack, so there should be no danger of his going soon. ![]() |
