Exactly. Without context or nuance, the statement is sheer moral cretinism. Was Martin Luther King's activism "damaging to the fabric of society as a whole"? Was Nelson Mandela's? Was Gandhi's? Was Rosa Parks' activism no more than a way for "useless people [blacks, presumably] to feel important"?
