The philosophical framework I am operating within is atheistic; but doesn't your biblical quote ascribe to your god a rather fragile ego unbecoming to divinity?
(Contrast Krishna's complete lack of ego in the Bhagavad gita: "Whatever form of deity a devotee wishes to worship with faith, I make that faith of his firm and unwavering." 7:21)
