Plot summary: straight-laced honor student in a strict Catholic boys high school with his sites set on the priesthood has his equanimity shattered when a rebellious transfer student arrives, figures out the honor student's repressed desires, and sets out to unrepress them. Crisis of faith and vocation ensues. The two lead actors are easy enough on the eyes, although neither one is really a boy any more. But they're good actors (as is the supporting cast) and the crisis of faith (love is supposed to be the supreme virtue and yet I'm not allowed to love? Huh?) is dealt with very well. The series avoids the temptation on the one hand to paint the Church as a hotbed of haters (although there is one such character) and on other to posit "all you need is love" pablum as the "solution" to life's challenges.
