The flying spaghetti monster is the best god ever. Christian claim that the bible is a necessary guidance for moral and ethics. However, there are a lot of things in the bible, which have been dismissed, or sometimes drastically reinterpreted. We have developed a sense for good and wrong, which allows us to be critical of parts of the bible. We found out which parts to follow and which ones to disregard. "Treat others like you want to be treated" That alone has spun a lot of ethics the last centuries. Philosophers have considered many questions and written books devising how we should live. The whole enlightenment period has contributed more to our western values than the bible. In some sense, the bible is both obsolete and outdated. And of course, i hope that the flying spaghetti monster makes my afterlife much more enjoyable by providing lots of naked blond boys with blue eyes... |
