Every country has laws that they enforce. Laws are based on philosophy, beliefs, ways of seeing the world. You say that it's oppression because of religion, but the US has the world's largest prison population. Is that all because of oppression too? Is everyone in prison in the US there illegitmately? Is everyone executed in Iran executed for the wrong reason? Or everyone is in jail there for the wrong reason? Why is it wrong for one country to enforce laws and not another? Why is one based on reason and the other is belief, as if another country's laws are just objectively good? This is all based on subjective beliefs about the world and what should be done. All laws are based on some philosophy or belief or ideology. |
