It qualifies as indifference because you are making a moral equivalence between those implementing a genocide and those being killed, as though the latter are somehow to blame for their own murder. Suppose I were to say: 'the Shoah? I refuse to take sides! It's not that I'm indifferent, but why should I take sides between two groups of fanatics?!' No, I'm sorry, the Jews were not fanatics, they were not responsible for their own murder, they were not morally equivalent to their killers, and it wasn't a war but a massacre of the innocent, as has been the case in Gaza for the last two years.
