Oh dear, oh dear! After your song and dance number about my lamentable ignorance of the Christian understanding of the theodicy of the book of Job I was rather hoping that the Big Reveal would be something a little more impressive than: 'we have at least this much to say: "Why?"'

"Why?" is indeed the question. Since you seem unable or unwilling to go beyond this point, let me propose the one and only possible answer, and see if you can come up with anything better.

The reason why natural evil happens is because "random accidental suffering brought about by accidents of uncaring impersonal forces far greater than we" is exactly what natural evil is.

If one accepts this, then the phenomena of nature make perfect sense.

If one (absurdly and nonsensically) personifies good and bad as beings to whom one can address questions like "Why?", then, on the contrary, the universe becomes completely incomprehensible.
