I haven't really investigated the options for quite a long time. I know I've seen hundreds of different ones being created and disappearing, some serious efforts and some as whimsy. I've seen massive thefts of crypto happening over the years, some of which we eventually learn has found itself into the hands of some pretty awful people. BC even tried to use them briefly.. not sure how that went, but I'm guessing it flopped. There's no tangible assets behind any of them that I'm aware of to back them up and guarantee things go smoothly. I would say most people probably don't value or even understand the 'good faith' of whatever government stands behind whichever fiat currency these days (depends on current behaviour), but generally speaking they go hell for leather to keep their currency stable, useful and trustworthy too.![]() |
