How does society change? It gets collectively angry, prude and dramatic... it gets paranoid... it allows itself to be punitive, and harsh with notions of privacy being a threat.

male youth take an unfair "slice of pie" in this collective distortion with erotic desires being perhaps the first "distortion" to be frowned upon, made hysterical and punishable.

A freaked out collective state..? and that is where the world stands?

Success is having a heavy hand in every discipline, this becomes a kind of honour to the war effort?

Just hypothesizing here... but it does fit the narrative.
