You aren't alone in viewing BC's unofficial Official Better Person as better than a pathetic trolling bitch. Also you are correct to recognize the physical and mental health benefits of fresh air and touching grass. Those who spend too many hours a day hunched over a screen in their mom's basement tend to lose touch with reality to the point where they become ugly trolls. Hopefully you have had a chance to breath some fresh air yourself before coming back to this conversation. Those of us who regularly have conversations with people that we care about, and especially those of us who regularly communicate with young people, recognize that the main function of communication is for the parties to come to an understanding with each other, see where each other is coming from and hopefully find a way to learn from each other or at the very least coexist. But BC isn't a normal place and most of the people who hang out here are not capable of having a respectful exchange of ideas. These are, in a word, abusers. They see human interaction as a chance to dominate and hurt and win. They are the reason people hate this place and that's why most BCers who create a nickname make less than a dozen posts over a couple or weeks to a couple of months, before moving on never to return again. You are obviously letting this place get to you and if you are like the many other seekers who landed here over the years, you won't be here much longer. Why come to a place where disrespectful people harass and troll you to get you mad? Long after you are gone the trolls will still be calling each other stupid and trying to bait each other into noncense unending pointless debates that take away from the types of conversations that more positive minded people have among friends. Or maybe you will choose to hang around for the long term. If you are going to last at BC you would do well to learn how to say "no thank you" to the trolls when they invite you to roll in the mud with them. Digorno's choice to disengage from this discussion with monkey was a wise one based on his recognition of a reality that you have not yet been here long enough to recognize. Arguing with monkey is like stepping into a tar pit where every attempt to reason with him or illustrate where he is missing the point becomes another chance for monkey to challenge more and more unrelated beside the point aspects of what you say until the point you were trying to make sinks unretrievably beneath the muck. Digorno has been through the unpleasantness many times before and does not wish to waste his time trying to reason with an unreasonable troll.
