Any idea that the election was a landslide is misleading. Without debating the worthiness of the Electoral College, the popular vote showed that Trump certainly did not win by a landslide. The popular vote ended up with Trump at 77,301,997 (49.80%) and Harris at 75,017,626 (48.33%). Trump won six of the seven major swing states (Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin) by 3.2 points or less, and he won Wisconsin by just 0.9 points, Michigan by just 1.4 points and Pennsylvania by just 1.7 points. That is no landslide nor is it any sort of mandate for Trump. If Harris had gotten just a few more votes in the right states, she would have won the election. h.. |
