Speaking personally and without any concrete evidence to back it up, I see AI as the greatest threat to humanity (with the possible exception of Putin). AI contravenes all the laws of Nature and humanity. All knowledge, emotions, communications, understanding, empathy come from the mind, not from the heart as suggested by romantic musicals. AI will progress exponentially ( already is) and it will be the first time in the history of the human race that the brain will be replaced by another form of intelligence. This will lessen or even negate the importance of instinct, self-preservation, empathy and moral decision-making and judgments. If the rock doesn't get us, AI will. *sighs* I am turning into a conspiracy theorist, but when a theory becomes fact, all bets are off. |
