My explanation of monkey's behavior is a little different, but I don't think you're terribly far off.

You can see the same when Django argues

Django I think is different in that he seems to be playing a character. I think tpka Django isn't nearly as dumb as Django the character. I find it hard to tell sometimes how much Django is memeing with his posts.
