'What do you mean, "his own truths". That is exactly what I am arguing against. There is no "his own truths", the fact that he may believe one thing or another does not mean he has his own truth.

You seem to be a strong believer in universal truth. You are not alone ;)
Men believed the sun was coming up and down above our world. That was the truth at that time. Later they thought the sun was rotating around the earth. That became the new truth. But after Copernicus people believed the earth was turning around the sun. Again a new truth. Until we discovered the earth and sun rotate around each other. In the future people probably will see that this truth is not conform the reality. Our beliefs (truths) are in constant flux. Many believers (religious and secular) have different believes/convictions they see as the truth.
The Truth most likely does not exist. It's a hollow concept. We were born in Plato's cave and think with every ray of light that enters that we can capture the truth. Poor us! Many scientists could hardly sleep when the light beam of quantum mechanics entered. Searching for an absolute truth is an almost pointless discussion that will lead to never ending debates. We cannot pass our shadows.

Question: Could a discussion about truth and reality be related to the present confusion about the nature of pedosexuality?
