Except for a small number of intersex persons, there is no such thing as sex being "assigned" at birth. If this refers to biological sex, it is not "assigned," but is ascertained by biological characteristics. If this refers to gender presentation or gender roles, these things are not found on a birth certificate at all as no one is ever "assigned" a masculine or feminine gender presentation. And access to the aforementioned surgeries have nothing to do with gender stereotypes but with biological sex and congenital medical conditions. Trans is neither and co-opting coverage meant for people with real medical issues is fraudulent. This is hardly any different from bilking your car insurance for features your car was never designed to have and blaming manufacturing error.
