Where congress has failed us....

... take "Gay marriage" as one example. I accept that marriage is the purview of the religion and that they can define it as, "only between a man and a women". However when congress faced this issue, they could have easily solved this with civil unions/partnerships (which IMHO was the right thing to do) but both sides were so polarized in their positions (and hatreds) that they couldn't move forward. Then it became in vocabulary of my land, "a cluster fuck" as some some states recognized "Gay marriage" and some didn't..... until it reached the Supreme court and they made a decision... it was the right decision but the wrong answer.
