By some estimates the US, with about 5 percent of the world's population, consumes about 25 percent of the world's resources. Not sure who is shitting on whose lawn in terms of the analogy, but it's hard to see how that level of disparity could be sustained if America "went isolationist." I doubt many Americans would accept isolationism if it meant significant deterioration in our standard of living. Could the problem be solved by some type of domestic wealth redistribution?
