Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. A lot of things to think about there. (I'm afraid right now I'm terribly busy in this completely absurd 'actual world' which, despite the fluidity of our linguistic categories, continues to have the temerity to masquerade as a non-linguistic realm of non-human fact.) As for the general question of nominalism versus realism, I tend to agree with Étienne Gilson that nominalists, like the poor, will always be with us. :) |
