The Ukrainian government's official website documenting the war has a lot of pictures of the impact on civilians. My heart really breaks for everyone affected there. Although it might seem trivial, I really feel for the pets too. They are necessarily mostly abandoned to fend for themselves. Many of them have spent their whole lives in the company of humans. Apartments can be repaired; possessions replaced; but I think losing favorite cats and dogs might be the most difficult thing for many of the children, as well as adults. The kids would certainly carry a worry about their pet's well-being. I disagree with you about the responsibility for this. It's not in dispute that Ukrainian militia spent eight years killing ethnic Russians in Donbas, at a clip of a couple of thousand a year. Did you think those people's lives had no value, or that no one should stand up to help them? I haven't seen any comment from you on their fate, no care or concern at all, like you think the innocent elderly, women, children, and men in Donets and Lughansk just deserved whatever the Ukrainian government saw fit to dish out to them. Or do I misunderstand you? And if so, what do you think (if anything) should have happened? ![]() |
