Firstly, I don't think that a white armband indicates "Russian collaborators". The reports I have seen suggest that white armbands were worn by non-combatants, and blue arm-bands by Ukrainian militants. The victims in Bucha wore white armbands not because they were collaborating with the occupiers, but simply to denote that they were civilians. I would also note that the timing of the respective photographs is unclear, but the whole point of the satellite images is that they were taken some weeks ago: the bodies were already there before the Russians withdrew from Bucha. The fact that the streets may be impassable now does not necessarily mean that they were similarly obstructed when the photos were taken. It would not be at all surprising if the withdrawing Russian army attempted to obstruct the main highways on their retreat from the city. The West wants war with Russia, and it's going to get it. With the greatest of respect, Kevin, I just don't think this is true. I see no evidence that anyone is clamouring for war at present except for Putin and his loathsome flunkeys. I'm afraid that you are interpreting events based on this assumption, and I do not think that it is a sound one. Everything you say in your last paragraph is totally untrue, as far as I can tell (and I'm genuinely baffled by the idea that Russians are less 'white' than Ukrainians - are you including the Crimean Tatars as Ukrainian or Russian?). Comment is free, but facts are sacred: I fear you are letting your preconceptions shape your choice of facts. |
