That would only be true if they had adult rights and responsibilities for their own actions. You can't make someone property of their parents and then hold them fully accountable as someone with full agency of their own. Teens are legally children and therefore need to be treated as such. If you don't like that then advocate for their being a separate class with rights to make their own choices which they can then be held accountable for.... or treat them the same as a 5-year old and send them to family court and shut the fuck up!!!
