Naturally, my heart and soul is with the students; my only slight worry is if this buttresses Le Pen in the run-up to the Presidential elections of next year. The victory of the RN would be a catastrophe for France and for Europe, just as it would be a major victory for the White House and its agenda of putting far right, pro-American, pro-Israel parties in power across the whole of Europe and South America. Extraordinary how sharp and clear the political battle lines are in today's world, isn't it? Extraordinary how vast the stakes. How different everything is from the world of just twenty years ago.
